Yeah, I've done everything you've said except I have a problem: I have set up page numbering and while the pages on the left are fine (I have even put symbols around the page number and the program does the symbol thing perfectly too) the pages on the right side do not number whatsoever. This wouldn't be a big deal except for that when I try and put the number on there, the number goes down through every single right-sided page below and above it excluding the chapter # page. Any help?

Thanks so much for this tutorial. I have now bent Pages to my will and the novel is looking beautiful. Sections and Styles are a total life saver.

I have one note to add to your tutorial, though. Under your "ADVANCED PAGE NUMBERING?" section you mention that you have to manually fix the numbering on each chapter. This is not so. Rather than having each chapter start from one, I have ONLY the first chapter start from one and have set the master chapter section template to inherit the previous sections' numbering from that point on.

That's what I did and it works wonderfully. No hacks necessary.

Thank you for sharing you knowledge, this is big step for me in writing my first book. Now I have the task of taking all my notes and putting them into this fabulous template.

Great, I'll check back from time to time to see if you found the time. Also, thanks for the link to NaNoWrMo. What a novel idea. I missed the 07 gig but I should be well underway by this November.

@Satch Dobrey, sure. If I find the time that sounds like a good thing to do.

Thanks much for the template. Any chance you might provide a Pages for dummies (just a new user who hates Word) simple set of instructions for getting started with using the template? Not used to seeing opposing pages and such. Just a simple 1-2-3 where to type what and how to proceed? Thanks again.
